ARTS & HUMANITIES LABS
Humanities and the Arts have been a pillar of PAGE’s programs since our inception in 2010 and they continue to inform our programming throughout the Summer. Rotating between June and July each year, we offer a unique Story Lab that spans multiple weeks, allowing girls an opportunity to explore various modes of storytelling, learn about their community’s artistic traditions, cultivate their own voices, and share what they have created. PAGE hires experienced educators, teaching artists, and creative professionals to develop and lead the Story Labs.

2025
Students learned interviewing techniques and digital tools to capture the stories of local residents who use food to build and strengthen community.

2023
Students explored multi-media pathways such as journaling, collage, photography, and papier-mâché to create the story of their true selves and their imagined alter egos.
2024
Students learn how to craft handmade paper, books, and journals in a variety of styles and methods. Students selected an area of interest from the available genres of Oral History, Narrative Writing, Scientific Writing and Illustration, and Poetry.
Each of these genres came together to create an educational magazine written and created entirely
by our students.

2024
Students learned oral history and technological skills to write and produce PAGE Podcast Episodes under the guidance of Softer Sounds Founder, Amelia Hruby.

Digital Stories
2012-2022
Under the guidance of community partner, StoryCenter, students wrote, recorded, and arranged a story about themselves and created a multi-media short form video as the container for their narratives.
