Summer Programming

In the months of June and July, PAGE offers an immersive opportunity for both middle-school and high-school participants through our Summer Program in Madison County. Working with professional scientists, educators, storytellers and artists, we curate rotating STEAM and Story Labs that provide the PAGE girls with engaging, hands-on learning experiences that are relevant to our moment in time and place.

We hire a group of college interns from Appalachia to support the Labs and guide the younger participants in small literature groups that encourage a love of reading, while fostering confidence of expression. Coupled with a Craft Fair, field trips, creative play time, and two delicious meals per day, the PAGE participants (and the whole summer team) learn real-life skills while having fun and building community.

Girls in rising 6th-8th grades can join us for a 3-week program in June and older girls in rising 9th-12th grades can join us for a 2-week program in July, followed by a 3-night field trip to a nearby college or university.

Our small group of selected High School Fellows also join us in June, where they participate in a special Documentary Arts and Future Pathways Program, while also gaining opportunities to connect with and lead the younger participants.

Enrollment is limited in each session, so we encourage parents, guardians, or other caring adults to nominate girls and inquire about Summer enrollment as early as possible.
